About the artist
Siru Curzon is co-owner, alongside her husband Rich, of Curzon Botanicals, a nursery and art shop, and a proud mother of two young girls. Originally from Finland, Siru once amassed what was unofficially the country’s largest private carnivorous plant collection. Her lifelong passion for exotic flora has taken her from hands-on ecological preservation, including work at the Meadowview Biological Research Station in Woodford, Virginia, to a career in botanical art. After nearly 10 years in the United States, Siru and her family have returned to Finland to build their business there.
Working primarily in watercolor, Siru captures the intricate textures, vibrant veins, and predatory anatomy of her subjects with a combination of scientific precision and artistic vibrancy.
