Where to Grow

Indoors, but outdoors is possible during summer.

Light

More light results in redder pitchers. Light ranges from full sun (outdoors in summer) to very bright light indoors, or part shade.

Water

Use only distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water. No tap water. Keep the pot in a tray with 0.5 to 1 inch of water, allowing it to evaporate completely before refilling. It is best to avoid top watering and continuously fill the bottom tray when as it evaporates.

Soil

Mix 1 part sphagnum peat moss to 2 parts coarse silica sand or perlite. Ensure ingredients are free of fertilizers and minerals.

Containers

Plastic pots are best.

Feeding

Place small insects like ants, fruit flies, or dried bloodworms inside the pitchers.

Fertilizing

Avoid using any fertilizer.

Humidity

Usually not a concern.
